Event Details
One Saturday evening each month we open the first few hours of a club telescope session to the public. This is an excellent opportunity for people interested in astronomy, or families seeking to stir the imagination of children, to come and learn about the night sky and take a look through some large telescopes. The usual format is to conduct an initial PowerPoint sky-guide talk around sunset to outline how the heavens work and what might be visible that evening. We then head outside under the stars for a laser sky-guide talk and to spend time observing planets, stars, star clusters, nebulae and more. We will also try and answer your astro-questions. Dress warmly in the winter months. This event is free, however a gold coin donation would also be appreciated. Please come along and tell your friends.
